Acetra’s Tree Planting Initiative

International Day of Forests, celebrated on March 21st, is recognized worldwide to raise awareness about the importance of forests for our planet. This year, Acetra chose to mark the occasion with a tree planting initiative. The company’s employees planted Liquidambar saplings (Liquidambar styraciflua) in Tašmajdan Park, contributing to the greening of Belgrade and promoting sustainability in the construction industry.

The construction industry has a significant environmental impact, with CO2 emissions being one of the major challenges we face. The production of building materials often leads to increased carbon dioxide emissions, and the construction process frequently affects natural habitats. For this reason, it is crucial for construction companies to recognize their responsibility in protecting nature and adopting sustainable practices.

In this context, sustainability in construction is key to reducing the negative environmental impact of the industry. By incorporating eco-friendly materials, utilizing renewable energy sources, reducing waste, and creating energy-efficient buildings, we can contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and preserving our resources for future generations.

Acetra’s tree planting initiative in Tašmajdan Park holds deeper significance. The five trees planted symbolize the five sustainability goals the company has set for the upcoming period. These goals reflect our commitment to environmental preservation and conducting business in a sustainable manner:

🌿 Reducing CO2 emissions – We are working on implementing eco-friendly technologies and reducing our carbon footprint across all stages of our operations.

🌿 Using renewable energy sources – We are dedicated to increasing the share of renewable energy in our projects and production processes.

🌿 Promoting sustainable materials – We promote the use of wooden structures and other eco-friendly materials in the construction industry.

🌿 Supporting circular economy models – We are working towards integrating circular economy principles, focusing on reusing materials and reducing waste.

🌿 Preserving biodiversity and fostering green spaces – We encourage urban greening, such as tree planting, and work towards biodiversity conservation through our projects.

The tree planting initiative at Tašmajdan Park is not just a symbolic gesture; it is a concrete step in our mission to contribute to a healthier and more sustainable environment. Through initiatives like this, we aim to inspire other companies to recognize the importance of sustainability and responsible business practices in the construction industry.
