The Future of Construction – Sustainable Materials

Can modern materials meet the challenges of circularity? That was the central question at the DECORATOR event “The Future of Construction – Sustainable Materials”, organized by the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Forestry and Decorator Project.

Dušan Milutinovic, CEO, presented how Acetra applies modern timber materials, such as CLT and GL, across global projects to shape sustainable and efficient structures. He showcased how engineered timber can be a powerful response to the environmental challenges facing the construction industry.

Dušan also highlighted the critical role of engineering in the early design phase, with a particular emphasis on timber and hybrid structures. In the early phases of design, when the architectural concept is still evolving, the involvement of structural engineer provides an important input that can fundamentally influence the overall success of a project.

The conference offered an incredible opportunity to connect with industry leaders – from engineers and architects to contractors and urban designers — and to exchange ideas on building smarter and more sustainable.
