Heerup Skole in Vanløse, a special school for students with physical and mental disabilities, is undergoing a major expansion. Currently serving 82 students and approximately 100 staff members, the school is set to grow by an additional 40 students.

As Copenhagen Municipality’s first CLT project, this two-storey extension will integrate seamlessly with the school’s historic main building, preserving its high conservation value.
This project is designed with ambitious sustainability goals in mind – the building is constructed with external walls of CLT and a climate screen made of wood. The entire extension is a CLT construction, where all the load-bearing structures are made of wood.
By embracing green building and sustainability practices, we are proud to set new standards in eco-friendly school construction.
